1. Soft cheese is off-limits → Pasteurized soft cheese is very safe. Even unpasteurized cheese isn’t “dangerous.”
2. Pineapple causes miscarriage → No.
3. Eating too many cookies causes gestational diabetes → Nutrition plays a role in blood sugar but GD is mostly caused by pregnancy hormones and your placenta.
4. Liver is too high in vitamin A → No. Liver is the most nutrient dense food on the planet just don’t eat it every day.
5. You can’t eat sushi → Cooked and low-mercury options are okay. Avoid raw shellfish.
6. You can’t drink coffee → About 200 mg caffeine/day is OK for ~most~ pregnancies.
7. You’re “eating for two” → You don’t need double the calories or nutrients for most nutrients — prioritize nutrient density.
8. A prenatal vitamin covers all your needs → Prenatals help, but whole foods still matter the most.
9. Low-dose aspirin is the only way to lower gestational hypertension / preeclampsia risk → It helps specific situations, but things like omega-3s, magnesium, and beets are also helpful strategies.
10. You can’t eat a sandwich → You can — do what feels most comfortable for you, just eat them or heat them.
11. You need to supplement with iron → Sometimes yes — but only if your labs show you need it. One size doesn’t fit all.
12. Avoid runny eggs → Yolks are nutrient gold. Do not avoid if you only enjoy slightly runny.

Practice moderation and avoid home-brewed options (these are the ones that have the most potential to cause you to get sick).

I’ve been “training for pregnancy” quietly for yearsss.

I saw a reel recently of someone saying they’re “training for pregnancy,” and it caught my attention and the attention of others. I think I yelled out loud “YES!!!” when I saw it 😅🥲

I haven’t shared much of this journey publicly, partly because I figured people might think it was over the top to be “training” for pregnancy years ahead. But the truth is, I’ve been intentionally building the healthiest version of myself ✨physically, mentally, and emotionally✨ before entering a season that’s as unpredictable as it is transformative.

What’s helped me become her:
• Nourishing my body
• Getting strongggg
• Finding balance
• Building community
• Choosing joy
• Prioritizing fun

• Eat to heal: anchor meals with ~30g protein, add fiber + fats, and keep blood sugar steady.
• Nourish recovery: warm, comfort meals (soups/stews, bone broth), mineral/electrolyte support, and gentle movement when cleared.
• Check the basics: vitamin D, full thyroid panel, iron labs, and blood sugar labs, then personalize with your care team.

You don’t have to do it all. Start with one small step and ask for help with meals if you can. Grief needs fuel, rest, and support. 💛
