Genetic carrier screening checks you (not your future baby) to see whether you carry genes linked to inherited conditions.

Most of these conditions are recessive, meaning both partners would need to carry the same gene for there to even be a chance of it affecting a child and even then, it’s a risk (usually around 25%), not a guarantee.

This kind of testing isn’t about fear or worst-case scenarios. It’s about having information early, understanding your options, and going into pregnancy feeling as prepared as possible!

The panel I did from @nateragenetics screened for 800+ conditions, took about five minutes at home, and mine was covered by insurance.
